Defining Our Purpose

What is Our Youth Ministry All About Here at Berean Baptist Church?
The Spiritual Life

It is our belief that the primary purpose for man's existence is to fellowship with his Creator. With this in mind, our youth department is first and foremost a place of spiritual development for your teenager. Through teaching and preaching from the Word of God, we attempt to lead our teenagers into a life that is both God-honoring and Biblically based.

The Emotional Life

Teenagers today face issues that many of their parents did not have to face. While we believe that there is "nothing new under the sun", we also realize the need and importance of teenagers seeking the advice of those who have gone before them. Our church and youth staff are comprised of experienced, competent and concerned adults who will be available to encourage, counsel, and help your teenage son or daughter with life's most difficult moments.

The Social Life

All of us appreciate the relationships we forge through life. These relationships often will determine the course of our lives. With this in mind, we have developed a program of activities and fellowships designed to allow your teenager to socially interact with their peers while maintaining an atmosphere of morality and propriety in the activities. These monthly activities will allow your teenager to make friends with young people you can feel comfortable about.

What Do We Offer You and Your Family?
Bible Based Teaching

Under the strict supervision of our Pastor, each Sunday School teacher presents lessons to our teenagers which are based upon foundational principles from the Bible. These lessons are not based upon human philosophy or ideals, rather they are founded upon the Biblical principles which forged this great nation.

Family Support

It is our conviction that the church is to be a help to the home and the family. This is why we encourage and enlist each family's involvement in our entire youth program. Monthly Afterglows as well as Quarterly Parent/Teen Activities, give you and your teen a chance to interact with other families in the church. It is the desire of our youth department to minister to the entire family. We wish to be a true help to everyone who needs help.

Opportunities to Serve

Many people, if given the opportunity, would love to be of service to their local church. Often the only reason they do not get involved is because they either were never asked or they were never provided with the opportunities to get involved. Through the many ministries at Berean Baptist Church, each member of the family, regardless of age, can find a place to become involved. One of our mottoes is "EVERY MEMBER A MINISTER"

Delivering Leadership

Who Will Be Leading Your Teenager Into Adulthood?
Pastoral Staff

Directing the youth department is Mr. Dalton Abshire. Mr. Abshire has worked with young people in the ministry since 1982. Serving as youth pastor, working in the bus ministry and administrating Christian schools has given him the experience needed to foresee, understand and answer the needs of our youth today.

Volunteer Staff

Rounding out our youth department is a team of competent, compassionate and concerned laymen of the church who volunteer their time and services to our teenagers. Because of the labors and prayers of these men and women we can offer an exciting, spiritually rewarding program to you and your teenager.
